UFO (a.k.a Taurus) was
originally built by Team UFO (Mark & Belinda Hamilton). They entered
the robot into Robot Wars series 7. It reached the heat semi-final
but lost to Judge Shred due to the robot being stuck on its side.
Team UFO decided to change the name of UFO to Taurus for some live
events. After a while they decided to call it a day and Team MAD
took on Taurus. We fought with Taurus in the Roaming Robots Winter
tour 2005 and reached the finals! Only to be beaten by our very own;
Merlin.
After a while we decided to change
Taurus back to UFO due to it being on TV under this name. In April
06 we stripped down Taurus and built back up UFO.
UFO is armoured by 8mm aluminium
and is equipped with a front hinged flipper (firestorm style).
We have had a few problems with a broke motor and gearbox, after a
recent modification we hope to have sorted the problem.
